 It was leaf-fall. A cold breeze blew through the Skyclan camp, carrying with it several frightened voices, high pitched voices, like those of young cats. Cats around the camp looked towards the entrance. Wondering what was happening. A few moments later a burly gray tom came through the entrance holding a young cat, who was absolutely drenched in water, and was hanging limply, his eyes closed. A few other kits came through the entrance behind the tom, saying things like. "Is Slatekit okay?" "Will he be okay?" "His eyes are closed!" Another cat came and shooed them away to the nursery, while the gray tom took Slatekit to the medicine den.
 Whitekit was awakened by the racket and looked up seeing every one scrambling outside she walked outside the nursery to see slatekit drenched she chased after Slatekits father and silently followed them into the medicine cats den then began to speak her voice shaken with worry "I-I-Is he gonna be okay?"
 "I don't know."  His father growled. Then he stalked off into the clearing. Probably looking for his mate, to let her know if what had happened. The medicine cat checked over Slatekit. After he finished he looked at Whitekit and said. "He'll be okay. But he needs to rest and be warm." Then he too left the den. Probably to let Slatekit's parents know he'd be okay.
 Whitekit scurried to slatekits side and    licked his fur the wrong way to help him warm up nudging him every so often to see if he had woken up yet her heart began to slow down a bit , before it was racing she thought she was loosing her best friend after all 'thank starclan he'll be okay ' she thought to herself
 Slatekit let out a large collection of coughs and attempted to sit up. But proceeded to flop back into his nest with a groan.
 Whitekit looked at his face worriedly "you okay?" There was a large amount of concern in her voice
 "I-" He started to say, but another cough interrupted him. "I- I think so... I'm n- not dead, right? So I'll be okay..."
 She hugged him "you got me so worried... ugh don't ever do that again." She seemed relieved that he was okay and just kept licking his fur "I heard licking fur helps you warm up, are you getting warmer?"
 "S- sorta..." He said quietly.
 She nodded "that's good." She soon got tired "I'll just have to stay next to you for now...I'm getting tired" she sighed "what happened to you?...I mean if you don't want to talk about it it's fine it's just...you were freezing a few minutes ago..."
 "I uh, I fell..." He said, not making eye contact.
 She sighed "just try avoiding falling okay?" She  giggled at her comment "you'll be okay "
 "Y- yeah. Okay." He said quietly.
 She looked around wondering where his parents were or where the medicine cat was
 "I thought something was chasing me..." He mumbled
 She looked at him "oh? Was something really chasing you" fear traced in her voice  what if it followed him to camp?
 "Well... yeah... But it was just dad..."
 She sighed in relief then looked at him "well here's the upside to that, nothing's chasing you back to camp trying to kill you"
 "Heh. He's probably pretty close to doing it himself." He said with a half-hearted smile.
 She smiled at him "look at you cheering up, "
 "Y-yeah. Let's go with that." He said looking out into the clearing. "Looks like they're coming back now. You might want to go, I think there's an angry lecture in my future..."
 She nodded then scurried back to the nursery

 A little while later Slatekit returned to the nursery. The medicine cat had deemed him fit to leave the medicine den. His parents had scolded him quite a bit for leaving the camp, and he was rather tired, so he wasn't in the greatest of moods. Upon entering a curled up in his nest and let out a sigh.
 Whitefawn nudged him "hey. hey. you doing okay?"
 He gave her a sideways glare. "No, to be honest, I'm not. But I'll survive."
 she pouted "hey, don't worry. atleast your not dead. and this will eventually calm over right?" she sighed "as long as your okay and not hurt everything should be fine"
 "I guess..." He said, resting his head on his paws.
 she nudged his paw "remember I'm always here bro" she smiled halfheartedly
 He grunted in response, then said. "Yeah, well this wouldn't have happened had I not had that stupid idea to sneak out."
 she cocked her head "sneak out?" she purred "why hadn't you invited me?" she fake pouted trying to cheer him up
 He snorted. "Completely slipped my mind." He said with a purr.
 "well next time you need to remember or I'll just chase your scent out of camp out of boredom and then I'll get in trouble too" she laughed at her ridiculous joke threat
 He snickered at her joke
 "feeling better now grumpypants???"
 He laughed. "I guess." After a moment's silence, he said. "Well I'm kinda tired... I'm going to try and sleep."
 "okie..." she nodded then curled around him protectively as if he was her kit " just...don't think about what happened today and have good dreams..."
