 The broad shouldered warrior pushed his way through the camp entrance, ears laid back against his head as he moved to drop his meager catch of the day atop the fresh-kill pile. A scrawny excuse for a vole. The silver warrior gave a tired sigh before lifting his head to get a look at the sky. He had maybe a bit of time before sunset. The thought stirred a small glimmer of light in his eyes. He'd made plans to meet with Starlingflight two days ago, and with a decent time approaching, he couldn't help but feel any previous tensions melt away. The feeling was foreign and odd. He paused at the thought and lowered his head, shaking it in disapproval at his own thoughts. What they had was good as a friendship, and even here he couldn't be what she wanted or what she deserved. He was unworthy of being more than friends with the bicolored she-cat. And yet, there was still a slip of hope held in the fluttering of his heart or a wanton sigh when he wasn't in the presence of others. Oh, what she has done to him. Shaking out his pelt with a new vigor, Creekflood took a look around the camp before padding back out of the entrance. Once free from the prying eyes of his clan-mates, he found his paws moving quickly in the direction of he and Starlingflight's meeting place.

 Starlingflight lie waiting for him in the clearing humming to herself soon looking up after hearing rustling in the bushes and she looked up to see creek flood she smiled hoping it was a good decision for her to do what she was planning on doing today

 Creekflood greeted her with a warm smile the moment she came into view and he stepped into the clearing. Padded over to her he gave her an affectionate nudge against the shoulder. "Greetings, my dear. How have you been in my absence?" He asked, eyes soft and patient as he awaited a response.

 "Lonely" she admited "I've missed talking to you " she sighed and got up smiling awkwardly "but besides the point..." she sighed obviously having a hard time figuring out what words she should say . She felt slightly worried that she would say the wrong thing and mess it all up.

 He chuckled softly, though it quickly faded as he noted her worry. "Is everything alright, love?" As the question passed his maw, he took a step closer so that the two were nearly nose to nose. His head was craned downwards whilst his eyes peered into hers, as if he could find the answer to all of his questions in those green depths of hers.

 She flushed at the sudden closeness heat radiating  from her face "yes actually...I was hoping to get some advice" she newer awkwardly still thinking up the words as if her script she thought over the day before completely went out the window

 His curiosity was sparked. Leaning back ever so much, the silver warrior lifted s brow and gestured for her to continue. "I can do my best to answer," he mewed, tail curling around his form.

 She sighed "I'm...really into this cat...and...I don't know how to tell him how I feel...I'm worried he'll reject me....and...that our friendship will be gone if he does..."

 "I- oh," the tom seemed taken off guard at first, his brows lifted in momentary surprise. He could already feel the pang in his chest, however played it off with a slightly nervous, yet supportive smile. "I suppose, that would depend on who it is," he started, sounding slightly uncertain. Clearing his throat, he adjusted his position and shifted his weight. "However, if you feel so strongly about someone, then you shouldn't let your worries get to you. A majority of times someone you like, will actually like you back, especially if you're already friends," as he spoke, he shuffled his paws slightly, scuffing the soft terrain beneath him. "You're an absolutely stunning cat, Starlingflight. If he rejects you, it's his loss."

 She sighed then blurted out "so if I were to say that cat was you, you wouldn't reject me right?" She flushed at her outburst and covered her face internally screaming at herself

 The silver warrior's eyes widened at her statement, worry quickly crossing his face as he thought over his next words very carefully. Finally, he leaned forward and reached out to pull Starlingflight in a close embrace. He slowly nuzzled against the back of her neck, breathing in her scent before he gave out a deep sigh. "Starlingflight, I-" he trailed off for a moment, ears laying back against his head. "I won't deny, I have feelings for you as well, but," he buried his face deeper into her thin fur, trying to force his heart to still. "You deserve so much better than me. I could never be what you deserve. I'm unworthy of someone such as you," he breathed out finally, keeping her form close for a few moments longer and swallowing thickly once more to coat his now dry throat. He could feel the faint trace of tears welling in the corners of his eyes, but quickly shook his head and leaned away from Starlingflight, turning his head away and down from her, awaiting her reaction. Her response with bated breath.

 Tears welled in her eyes "b-but I'm the one that doesn't deserve such s great cat as you" she mewed looking at him "you deserve so much better than me...." she pressed her head into his fur as she began to cry "i-i honestly don't know what to say right now"

 He bit back his words for a moment,  his heart aching. When she began to cry, he pulled her closer and shifted ever so slightly to wipe the tears from her face. "Starlingflight," he started softly, resting his chin atop her head and letting out a long sigh. "I've never been a part of a committed relationship. It's always been the occasional fling for me. You don't want someone who's lived like that. You shouldn't want someone who's lived like that," he lowered his gaze to the ground. "You shouldn't want me," he added in a low whisper. Finally though, he let his gaze lift to meet hers, and despite everything he's ever known telling him to stop, he leaned over and pressed his nose to her cheek. "But I cannot bring myself to end this. To end us, in any form. I need you to do it, or else we may both regret it later," the dismay at the thought on his face was clear with him remaining so close, he no longer had his nose to her cheek, but he had by no means pulled far away, I'm face he could still feel the slight tickle of her breath with how close they were.

 She stood firm in her place "no." She sighed "you are the only cat I really care about...I can't just...loose that.." she sighed "I want you no matter what happens, it doesn't matter what kind of cat you were before, you clearly have changed but haven't noticed it " she licked his cheek " I won't end this... not unless I die..." he gaze passionately looked up into his eyes as a slight smile crept up to her face " this is the only thing I want right now, and you should know that I won't leave you, you have been my best friend for the past few weeks, and...I can't help but think that there's something more here..."

 His green eyes had closed for a moment after she licked his cheek, and now slowly opened as she spoke. "You-" he started, voice shaky and wavering so he cleared his throat to steady his voice. "You will regret this," he mewed before closing the distance between them. His nose pressed against hers and once more his eyes flickered close as a breath of relief slowly fled his lungs.

 She chuckled "oh I promise you I won't..." she smiled at him "I feel so much better after telling you how I feel but...I'm worried that your getting worried over nothing." She sighed and nuzzled his neck "really we're gonna be okay, I swear on star-clan that we will" she truly was confident that things would work out

 He gave an almost nervous chuckle in response, yet returned her soft smile, using his head to cradle her close to his form. "I hope so," he mewed to her, the words barely audible as they left his maw.

 Starlingflight purred "you know your suddenly acting like me" she laughed "I guess we really are purrfect for each-other " she mentally patted herself on the back for her horrible cat pun .

 The tom laughed harder at her pun than he would like to admit. "Darling, that was terrible," he responded, leaning over to rest his chin atop her head. "What ever am I going to do with you?"

 Starlingflight purred "no idea. Only time will tell" she laughed "but there are more bad cat puns where that came from so be prepurred " she laughed "I'm so not sorry "

 He snorted and playfully batted at her muzzle. "You're a menace," he teased, standing and padding around Starlingflight so that they were flank to flank. He gently nuzzled her shoulder and let out a content sigh, breathing in her scent as he gently leaned against her, relishing in her company.  Finally though, he spoke once more, smirking into the thin fur at her shoulders. "Those puns are a-paw-ling."

 she looked at him dumbfounded then laughed "oh my gosh you hypurrrcryte!!" she laughed gently nudging him playfully then smiled "gosh we are just suckers for these puns" she purred looking into his eyes in a different way then she usually did.

 He laughed with her, shoulders shaking ever so slightly as he did so. Laugh fading into a content sigh, he lifted his gaze once more towards her and peered back, searching her soft green eyes for something. "We really should be stopped," he responded lowly to her last statement, not once looking away from her.

 "stopped from doing what? Annoying everyone with out horrible puns. but its so fuuuunn" the she-cat sighed and smiled at him "if you mean the other thing, nothings going to stop me. once i set my mind on something I can't give up.."

 The silver tom chuckled warmly, his gaze lowering for but a moment before it lifted once more, fondness clear in his green eyes. "I'm beginning to see that," he mewed, leaning forward and gently licking her cheek. As he pulled back, he paused once more to gently press the side of his muzzle against her's and breathed out a sigh of relief, eyes fluttering closed and his broad form appearing to relax once more in her presence.

 "You seem calmer" she black and white she-cat mewed then purred "what am I calming or something? I didn't think I was that fluffy" she laughed then leaned closer to him "I'm certainly not as fluffy and comforting as you are...."

 The tom hummed softly, glancing towards her and chuckling warmly before he nuzzled closer to her in an affectionate manner. "You may not be overly fluffy, but you're quite warm still," he mewed in response, tugging her closer to him once more as if to emphasize his point and playfully smother her in his thick fur, not suffocating her, simply burying her muzzle against his own neck as he listened closely to the sounds of the territory around them.

 She nuzzled him playfully then came up with a idea "heh..." she started to tickle him "this is my way of flirting" she purred

 The tom's ears twitched as he gave out a short huff of air as she began to tickle him. Leaning back, he grinned and batted at her paws, not enough to hurt her, simply to push her away. "It's certainly a very interesting way," he mewed around stiffled chuckles as he did what he could to hold back any form of laughter that so wanted to escape his maw at her invading paws and nose.

 Starlingflight stepped away "yes well it's fun isn't it?" She purred nuzzling his neck "I'm so happy...you have no idea how nervous I was yesterday" she laughed at the thought "I was so nervous I had to hunt to keep my mind off of doing this "

 He arched a slender brow, a teasing smile crossing his maw as he resettled his weight. "I can't imagine that went well," he joked, flicking his tail tip against her shoulder and chuckling warmly. Leaning forward, he affectionately nuzzled the top of her head. "Oh," he drawled out. "Whatever would you do without me, dear?"

 Starlingflight acted as if she was contemplating the thought then smiled "I wouldn't be doing anything, I would just go back to my old ways and be super lonely " she sighed "I hate being lonely "

 He frowned for a moment before an idea crossed his maw. With a faint glimmer to his eyes, he rather suddenly pounced on the she-cat, playfully pushing her over so that his form was hovering over her's. "Well! Then I suppose it's a good thing I'm around now then, huh?" he purred, casting her a toothy grin as he nuzzled against her cheek. "We can't have such a lovely cat lonely, now can we?"

 Starlingflight flushed , the position they were in embarrassing her "I-I'm not pretty..." she mewed her flush now visible from under her fur

 He clicked his tongue at that, leaning down and licking just above her nose. "No, you're not," he started. "You're absolutely beautiful," he added with a wide smile, eyes soft and smoldering with adoration as he leaned down to nuzzle against her. Creekflood breathed in her scent with a deep breath before he leaned back once more. "Don't try to argue with me either," he added to his previous statement, a wide grin spreading across his maw once more. "I know beauty when I see it."

 Starlingflight nodded but was still blushing even brighter now but she collapsed under him, relaxing as she breathed in his sweat scent and nuzzled him .

 Creekflood purred warmly and pressed his head affectionately against hers, his green eyes flickering closed for a moment as he simply relished in her company. With a deep sigh, he moved off of her so as not to crush her and tugged her form to him once more, pressing their forms together comfortably.

 Starlingflight cuddled closely a smile forming on her maw "thank you... tonight has been a wonderful night..." she was happy, truly happy, for probably the first time in her life

 He returned her smile, eyes soft and features relaxed. "I should be thanking you for such a night," he purred, gently nuzzling her cheek. Creekflood gave a soft sigh of relief as he laid his tail across her back, and carefully tucked his head against her shoulder. "Tonight has been absolutely amazing," he mewed softly to Starlingflight.

 Starlingflight chuckled "how could this night be caused by me? I think your the one who made me fall for you" she purred "I think your the reason this happened...." she purred and nuzzled him more "and I'm glad it did..."

 "I do seem to have that effect on others," he mewed, chuckling softly at his own comment. With a relaxed sigh, he gently pressed his nose against her head. "And so am I," he responded to her final statement, his eyes falling half lidded as he simply relished in her presence, curling his larger form around her's in a close embrace.

 A strange silence came upon them, until, Starlingflight started snoring. The black and white she-cat had fallen asleep because it was so calm , the toms presence comforting to her. For the first time in a long time, she fell asleep with no worries .
